Original Georgian Diamond Brooch
This exceptional and rare Georgian brooch is set with a generous dose of rose cut diamonds. The diamonds are set in silver over 15 ct rose gold. The design is highly desirable and makes for a potential ring conversion. The diamonds have a bright sparkle and the foil in certain areas display a light peachy tone due to the aging of the original set foil, which is expected for a 240 year old piece. The overall condition of this foil is very good.
Georgian foiled back diamonds should not be in contact with water and should be cleaned with a soft dry cloth to preserve the condition of the original foil. Foil was applied to the back of the diamonds during this period to refract light optimally under candlelight. Take a trip back in time as you admire the history of this diamond enhancement technique.
